Betty's visit was followed by 2 phone calls. I told her the next call or visit would prompt me to file charges of harassment against her. That seems to have put a stop to the problem.

The ex came to see her before she married.

It turns out the ex was trying to tell her that the guy was abusive. He hit women. My friend's reasoning was that if it was true, why had she never called the cops on him, or mentioned it to anyone before?

My friend called the cops on the woman. When she got a couple of letters from the lady, she turned them over to the police.

He did hit. My friend ended up divorcing him.

It is a shame that there was so much distrust. I wish these women could have found a reasonable way to speak with each other. If he decides to enter a serious relationship again, at least there are two of them to warn the woman. I have no idea where he is.
