What band or group do you most want to see reunite for a tour?
Even if some of the original members are dead and their spots are filled by their sons or daughters?

But it'll never happen unless Morrissey and Marr have their heads bashed together.

he sued Morrissey. It'll never happen I don't think.

43. Yeah, I'd love to see The (real) Alarm myself.
Missed them in the 80's unfortunately :(

I don't think the other guys are even playing music anymore. Wasn't Twist selling insurance in San Francisco or something like that?

Mike's new music is good. I just wish he would find a new name for his band, because it's not really "The Alarm".

46. Saw them twice
Capital Centre, Landover, MD, March 1986, on the "Spirit of '86" tour (after "Strength" came out), and again in December '88 at the Orpheum Theater in Boston, on the Electric Folklore tour. The Cap Centre show was an opening gig for Pat Benetar, believe it or not. There were about a thousand Alarm die-hards, but as the set progressed, the other 18,000 people were drawn into it. It was absoulutely mesmerizing.

Mike and Dave are still in the music biz. Eddie is a photographer in the UK, and Twist is, of all things, a paralegal/investigator for the San Francisco public defender's office.

I agree with you on Mike's Alarm(insert roman numeral here). They're good (the band includes members of Stiff Little Fingers and Gene Loves Jezebel), but I wish they would use a different name.

The NewShits albums with that Republican cretin Graves settles that question. Even Doyle, his own brother had enough of him.
Unfortunately, I'm afraid that Doyle's appearances on the recent Danzig tour are the closest thing to a Misfits reunion as we're going to see.

I get a woody thinking about it.

And it should be a 4 hour show, doing all of Animals (with all songs in extended, extra-long guitar solos mode), Dark Side, Wish You Were Here, and the songs Set the Controls, Careful with That Axe, Astronome Domine, Bike, Mother, Comfortably Numb, Hey You, Saucerful of Secrets, Atom Heart Mother, Fat Old Sun, Pow R. Toc H., Interstellar Overdrive, Corporal Clegg, Jugband Blues, One of These Days.

And NO "Run Like Hell".

35. First off, if some of the members are dead, then by definition it's not a reunion...
You couldn't have a Beatles reunion after Lennon was shot.

Similarly, I don't think the current Zeppelin line up should be counted as "legitimate."

Given all that, I guess I gotta go post-Barrett Pink Floyd. They're one of the big bands that I really regret not seeing when I had the chance.

they did a couple of concerts, but no tour.

incredibly innovative group that changed the playing field altogether.

I would not be willing to pay the eight zillion dollars for a ticket, though. I mean, like, I paid ten dollars for a good seat to the Rolling Stones. A loooonngg time ago.

45. yeah, I had a three-day ticket to Woodstock for $18.00
and no one to collect it there. I have unfortunately lost the ticket over the years.

John McLaughlin and the Mahavishnu Orchestra in the early '70s played nearby for $1.00, and I missed the concert!

And we snuck down from the cheap $3.50 seats down to the expensive $5.50 seats at the B.B. King/ Muddy Waters concert. We were so proud of ourselves.

And records cost $3.47 for many years.

and says the tickets were $6, though she doesn't have her ticket stub any more. And yes, I remember the under $4 record albums. I'm glad I bought so many in the 1970s. I have tons of great albums that I got for $3 to $4 each....

47. One that has apparently reunited
Big Country.

They are playing some shows in the UK, with Tony Butler, the bassist, assuming lead vocals. Tony always provided backing vocals for the band.

The anniversary of Stuart Adamson's death is coming up in a few days. As stupid as this is going to sound to people older than 40 or so, Stuart's death hit me harder than John Lennon's. I guess it's because I'm a child of the post-punk '80s who loved Big Country and the Skids as a teenager. If only Stuart knew how many of us were deeply affected by his death, maybe things would have been different...
