Any reason to worry?

1. A quck google search does not reveal any problems...
I'll keep looking and let you know if I find anything.

2. no....
No worries-- sunflower seeds are just fine. Cats eat them all the time, but usually repackaged as song birds....

3. This link says sunflower plants are safe for cats...
so I would assume no problems with the seeds.

8. You're welcome!
To put your mind at ease, you may just want to ring your vet in the morning to confirm.

This might be a good place to remind people that grapes and raisins can be poisonous to dogs.

9. Sounds like a smart cat.

"...now that I have sunflower seeds on my breath, a bird will smell them and just walk right into my mouth...."

11. You might have a slightly stronger smelling litter box
as those seeds clean him/her out. :P

13. oooh, stinky
we already have one cat whose poo just smells atrocious all the time. Vet says nothing is wrong with her, she might just have a sensitive digestive system. Not looking forward to another one that makes my eyes water....
oh well, as long as she's OK!

How're you doing, ThomCat?

16. Once left a bag of fenegreek seeds for a friend who wasn't home
She said the cats got into the seeds and noshed a lot. They LOVED them. I guess cats are not the total carnivores we thought.

The seeds contain vital fats. Kitty probably knew that was good for the system.
