Am I a freak for loving "The Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies"?
It is my favorite part of the entire Nutcracker soundtrack. I could listen to it all year 'round.

Of course Tchaikovsky is my favorite composer.

13. The Nutcracker not only sounds painful, but it's part of The War on Christmas
It's evil, obviously.

7. No- I love the 'Arabian Dance'
from the Nutcracker.

I just love it-

What's not to like about it?

I think darn near everyone likes it.

Am I wrong?

( if so, I will promptly admit it-)

( and no, I'm not having a conversation with myself.;-) )

10. I took my daughter to see a production of Nutcracker by a new dance company here in the OC
We went yesterday with her Brownie troop. My daughter was transfixed. She is totally hooked. Some of the other girls were very very bored.

Both Karl and I saw the Nutcracker at an early age
and are hooked on it.

I'm so glad she liked it.
;-)

I can't believe it, Brownies bored with
the Nutcracker?

What is the world coming too?

I'll have to dig for the most appropriate bit, since it's an animation and thus not catalogued. x(

19. I love the entire Suite.
It was the performance piece of my first dance recital as a very young girl. I remember seeing Gelsey Kirkland doing the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy so many years ago, and I've never forgotten it. Her pointe-work was inspired.

21. I just bought the opening theme to Swan Lake on iTunes
That piece was a standard for theme music in a few old movies like Dracula and Siegfried.

25. Here's some rather special 'Tchaikovsky'
"Nut Rocker," recorded in 1962 by B. Bumble and the Stingers.

Enjoy.

Thaik was one of the best in that department. You won't hear many other duets for bass clarinet and celesta.
