oh christmas tree oh christmas tree .. post your christmas decorating pics!
Edited on Sat Dec-08-07 09:15 PM by Ava
we decorated our tree tonight. i always love having a christmas tree in the house... it just seems to make the living room a better place, lol. ;)

here's some pics from our tree decorating tonight. the pics are blurry and some just look strange, lol, but my little sister(7) took most of them so they i think they came out pretty well considering. ;)

blank tree.. before we began -

adding some lights(the part that sucks) -

adding some ornaments

me thinking - "i'm tired of this now.. bah humbug"

the finished product -

i think the tree turned out good.. considering three little rascals cluttered the hell out of it

add your pics!

1. I'm still debating what to do about a tree.
For the past two years, a couple in my church gave me a live tree as a gift. They're some of the people who got mad during the conflict last summer. So, no tree for me!!

They used to call me in late October, to tell me they were out at the tree farm, picking out a tree for me and marking it. Then I'd go with 'em the first weekend of Advent to cut it down. Well, they didn't call in October and the first weekend of Advent has come and gone. No tree for me. And yeah, I am little hurt by it. But that was the point, wasn't it?

I own a scrawny looking artificial pre-lit tree. I bought it right after I moved here. My mom and I went to pick it out, be she wasn't feeling well (a brain tumor, we learned three days later). I just picked a tree quickly, so she could get home and rest. Neither of us really liked it, but I had a tree.

I'll probably put that tree up tomorrow. I guess.

Haven't busted Max drinking out of the stand yet, but it's just a matter of time (vet said it's no problem since I don't put preservatives or anything in the water).

I love bright colors and I love the room, but I want to sell next year now that I work in a different area. Painting over that's going to be a nightmare. Given the market it will be hard to sell as is. :(

18. I love it when little kids hang ornaments.
Edited on Sun Dec-09-07 12:04 PM by Oregonian
In my experience they hang about ten ornaments on one branch and then leave the rest blank. So cute.

11. we have accumulated various little snow persons
over the years.

i thought they would make a neat snow family.

they have become a traditional part of the holiday decorations...

they look quite festive under the large champagne glass of mardi gras beads.

15. I need to find my tree pics from last year...
my roommate and I only had room for a little 3 footer, but we geeked it out something fierce. We hung lightsaber keychains on it, stuck a pair of Harry Potter glasses in there good measure, and the piece de resistance: My roommate had a Return of the Jedi speeder bike toy that can explode into several large pieces, so we had the speeder bike pilot clinging on to the top of the tree for dear life, and the wreckage of the bike below him stuck in the branches. :)

The tree was a gift from another geek friend of mine, so I felt that was the best way to honor her gift. :)

40. I have pretty much nothing BUT geeky shirts... :P
I went on a date last night. I wore my T-shirt that looks like a sports-type shirt from a distance with a big number on the front... until you get closer and you see the big number is 12 and below it it says, "Parsecs"

And she got the joke. :P I'm wondering if she might be a keeper, even though she's a Mac user...

16. me too, I got one too :D
I had to throw away the one we used the last two years, but I did learn from it not to shop online for a Christmas tree x(
Yesterday I got this one from Target. It doesn't hold as many ornaments, it's not even supposed to have ornaments, so I had to only use the animal ornaments and the Millenium Falcon :headbang: but when the tree is turned on they're hard to see.
It changes colors, fiber optically
This is it in the daytime:

At night:
