OUCH...
I awoke this a.m. and started to rise out of bed, when I felt a 'pop' in my left upper side. It literally brought me to my knees. I've been fighting this dang 'bug' that's going around our area and thought I was pretty much over it. Anyway, when this happened this morning, it was one of the worst pains I've ever experienced. Hubby and I have had a hacking cough and all the other symptoms of this 'bug' since last week and our Dr. prescribed antibiotics. I thought I was much better, had a restful nights sleep, but when I got out of bed and the 'pop' happened, I thought maybe I had pneumonia or bronchitis. Went to the Dr. and they took 4 x-rays...I had popped the cartliage from my rib where it connects to the sternum, I guess from the coughing. I've cracked a rib before and this is every bit as painful. Dr. told me to take it easy and rest for the next few days and prescribed pain killers for the excruciating pain. What really bites is that I emailed my supervisor to let him know what had happened and NOTHING...not a 'hope you feel better', 'see you on Monday'...nothing. ASSHOLE! I rarely, if ever, miss work.
Sorry...just had to vent.
