$#%%$ Snow! @$#%#% Weather Forcasters! I hate winter....
What fucking day I am having here in the DC area. Last night all the forcasters are saying a dusting to an inch or two of snow starting AFTER morning rush and, Oh yeah, road temps are warm--it won't be a problem. WRONG WRONG WRONG!!! It started snowing around 6;30 or so this morning and its COLD--WAAY below freezing. So guess what? THe little bit of snow immediately FROZE to all the overpasses and btw- the roads were totally UNTREATED. Accidents galore. My 4 mile commute took me almost an HOUR. And then while sitting in traffic my battery light went on in my car. Aye carumba! Fortunately it got me in okay and I ran in and found a co-worker to tell them I couldn't stay cause I just knew if my car sat in the cold all day it wouldn't start. So I drove back over less crowed but still very icy roads and just dropped my car off at a gas station near my house. I trust them but they don't have a wait area so I walked a half a mile home in the snow and cold (by computer weatherbug says its 23 degree F right now). Cold wet and cranky.
Oh and no way am I going back out on the roads. In the 7 years I have lived here I have NEVER seen the traffic around my house this bad...:argh:

5. Ah yes..
Where you can begin the day with the heat on and end it blasting the A/C. Or vice versa.

But I love it here and wouldn't live anywhere else. And we do know how to cope with snow on the roads.

6. Well not just for the alternator
280 for the alternator and 130 in labor NOT including the battery, which I figure will probably need to be replaced. Last time I had a car with a bad alternator the battery went too. $411 is the current estimate. Seems about right, but it could be a little high. I can't really shop around at the moment either....:banghead:

3. I don't listen to or watch them
Haven't in years.

Fire up weather.com, punch in your zip, open the Doppler radar zoom out a bit and you have everything you need to know about your upcoming weather.

7. Come visit me!
Current temp: 58 degrees (at 7:21 am)
Today's high: Mid-70s. (yesterday it was almost 90)

Though it may still take you an hour to go 4 miles here...

I very un-fondly recall the days of the snowstorm. I grew up in Nebraska, so I'm fully aware of the nastiness.

Sorry you had such a craptacular morning!
