missing cat (not ours)

ok, so there's been a sign up outside our building on a telephone pole with a picture of a missing cat, and pleading for help finding it, since he's been his/her best friend for 10 years. the sign disappeared sometime recently (didn't notice when) as both i and bi-baby fuond out after racing out to find the person's phone number because.... we found the cat. it was hanging out near our dumpster, and as we approached and made kitty calls, he took off. but he's hiding out in the neighbor's yard now, so he's in the area.

anyhow... we have no way to contact it's owner now, because the sign is now gone. :(

should we put up our own sign? make posts on Craig's List or message boards hoping that person sees it?

1. I would put up a sign in the same spot that says

FOUND YOUR CAT!!!!!

with your contact information.

You guys are real sweethearts doing that in that horrible weather. :hug:

if it was a homeless person, then we wouldn't be bothered.

i'd put the sign up now, but it's nasty out, and we don't have a lamenating machine.

2. Are there any other signs?

Usually people will put signs on several blocks. If not, yes, definitely put up a "Found" poster.

4. Seconded. I'd look for another sign in the area (if you haven't already).

If you don't find one, I'd put my own up. Good of you guys to help out.

6. the sign broke my heart

i've seen missing pet signs before, but this one was different because of the "PLEASE, THIS IS MY BEST FRIEND OF 10 YEARS"
