1. The Captain Jack stuff is so hot.
I like the show, and those little extras sure don't hurt.

2. Torchwood is an anagram for Doctor Who. I never thought of that before.

7. When the show was geared for a mature audience, I was hoping for "more complex storylines".
Oops.

That show has no substance whatsoever.

I've sat through the first three episodes, don't ask how I got to the third one.

8. no kidding

I set the DVR to record them before I saw any. Then I started watching them. Then I deleted the DVR timer.

Concept had potential. Execution a big miss. Very disappointing - I think you made it through more episodes then I did. I think the 'mature audience' thing was in reference to the sex in the bathroom scene in the first one.

15. I'm glad the show is on BBCA three or four times each week.
I couldn't watch the first time, second time peeked thru my fingers, and third time quite enjoyed it.

It was on again Sunday morning . . . pretty cool.

As stated upthread, I lurves me some Captain Jack.

28. Jack is in at least eight episodes of Doctor Who.
The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances, Boomtown, and the last two of series 1.
Utopia and the last two of series 3.
He's also going to be in series 4.

20. I was disappointed with Torchwood
It switched frequently between awesome and bad, with too much of the latter.

I also found it difficult to imagine an important organisation above the government and the UN, spending its time chasing inconsequential aliens around the Welsh countryside.

that American accent. I watched him get ready for a music video.

It's not a problem, it's just a little incongruous to me, that's all. :-)

but lived in Joliet IL for a while growing up, ergo the Second City accent.

:-)

He's not an American living in the UK so much as a Scotsman who went home. :-)

25. It's great that we're getting Torchwood's Season 2 so quickly...
We'll only be a week or 2 behind the UK.

There's a lot on the 'web about the next season. (And I'm trying to avoid spoilers.) The scripts are going to pay more attention to character development--& not just Gwen's character! Jack won't be quite so dark--more like the charming fellow we met in Doctor Who. And there will be more background on Jack, Torchwood & the Time Agents (Jack was introduced as a rogue Time Agent). Perhaps the Torchwood crew will get to show their skills, rather than just their screw-ups. (Last season, they couldn't even order pizza without causing a bloodbath.)

I'd encourage anyone who hasn't seen Doctor Who to catch the three seasons of New Who. You'll get to meet Captain Jack; he's introduced in the first season & shows up at the end of the third. And both New Doctors are pretty cool, too.

27. Torchwood is a fun show.
It's not Masterpiece Theatre, but it's fun.

You really should watch Doctor Who, as well. The DVDs are on Netflix and the files are all over the place on the internet. Not that I would get them that way. ;)
