What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving?

1. Thankful that Lions' Thanksgiving game is nearly over for another year.

3. I'm THANKFUL to know

that my niece received my mother's ring after SO MANY YEARS. Mom gave it to me before she died. My birthstone, which according to superstition "others" should NOT wear. I'd always coveted it but was unable to wear it, as whenever I did my finger would break out in hives. I tried to pawn it and rejected the offers of those who thought I did not know the value of what I was offering.

Finally it occurred to me to send it to her only female grandchild. Let HER deal with it! :evilgrin: My niece never acknowledged that she received it. I asked my little sister once if our middle Talibornagain sister (who was quite upset when I gave my niece a "Surprise Egg" that had an Egytian figure inside) had mentioned that her daughter had received THE RING. Tali and I hadn't spoken for YEARS. Lil sis hissed at me, "Did YOU INSURE IT?" I knew then it had arrived safely. We never spoke of it again.

BUT TONIGHT Kimi told me HERSELF that she HAS IT stashed in her SHOE collection. :spray::rofl: SHE thinks it's beautiful too but can't wear it, something about allergic reactions. She's VERY sensitive, ya know. :rofl:

I told her that as the oldest child of the oldest child it my right and duty to pass the bauble on to her to do with as SHE sees fit. :rofl::evilgrin::rofl:

43. I am thankful that a good portion of my family could make it this year...

Most namely me, since I haven't been able to for the last few years. :)

And I'm thankful that I'm no longer in that humid cesspool of a state I was living in for almost 20 years.

And I'm thankful that a good portion of the family are coming by tomorrow to help us finish the last few things we need to get done before my grandpa comes home from the rehab center.

I am thankful that on the very same day that I got to see some family members I hadn't seen in years I also got to see snow for the first time in 11 years. (and I got pictures and video too. :) )
