she is the runt of a 8 puppy litter.The rest of the pups weighed like 20+ by this time..she weighed about ten.

I'll see if I can put an updated pic in here.We kept her and the pic pup and she is now the bouncing baby 40 pound fully grown Shepperd

15. My new home, and a landlord that allows me to have my cat

My previous landlord sold the townhome I was renting earlier this year. I moved into a new home (still renting), but:

1). The landlord's a much nicer guy. His name is Bob. I dubbed the new home "Casa Bob" immediately upon moving in. He is a retired real estate agent who handles property management because he said that sitting around drove him crazy. I have a tradition of handing him an ice-cold Henry Weinhard Root Beer every time he comes over and finishes some minor repair. He laughed the last time I handed him one and said "I'm going to drink up all of your root beer" and I said "That's what it's there for, Bob!"

2). It's a 52-year-old, 3 bedroom house. I haven't lived in a house since I lived with my parents. I've lived in apartments (the worst) and townhomes (good, unless you get an S.O.B. for a neighbor, which has happened a couple of times).

3). I have my cat. I've had her for 5 years, since she was 7 months old. Animal lovers get it, folks who aren't animal lovers don't. If I had to live in my car, I wasn't moving anywhere that wouldn't allow my cat. Bob allowed my cat.



The chair she is sitting in is directly behind my computer, in my home office. To my immediate left is a sliding glass door that looks out over a nice, big back yard. That's what she's doing in the photo...scoping out birds & squirrels and protecting me from both.

It's been a tough year, but I've probably never been more thankful in my life. There were times when I had more and took it for granted. I no longer take anything for granted.

I hope you have many more birthdays together. I have a geriatric dog and he is by far the sweetest of them all. He is always at my feet, a very loyal dog.

She worked on Thanksgiving to give the younger gals with families the day off. She works at a long term care facility and she said "I'd love to spend my holiday with those folks anyway"

Petunia...she is was found in the snowy woods, abandoned and alone (12 ounces!)a year to the exact day after my daughter passed away.
She was attacked 3 weeks ago and almost didn't make it. It was touch and go. She is all better now and home (an now an inside kitty for the rest of her life.)
She is my little miracle...
