6. Syd Straw in a landslide
Her vocals on the Golden Palominos track "I've Been the One" are one of my most treasured musical possessions.

She's also one of the best performers I've ever seen live. She can say: "How y'all doing tonight?" and have everyone in the audience think she really wants to know. She just oozes personality and charisma.

10. I agree. I saw Syd Straw at a small club in Santa Monica, CA.
Actually, it was at McCabes Guitars -- she was absolutely amazing!

I first heard her in 1989 when her album "Surprise" came out. It remains one of my favorite albums and I listen to it often.

13. She must have been the guest vocalist queen
'cause I only know her from "You You You" by Was (Not Was). Hard to judge from just that, but she sounded like she'd be a charismatic live performer.

7. Barrett
Vicious was nothing but a drugged out bassist who contributed very little the the legacy the Sex Pistols left for themselves. Barrett was the main creative member of Pink FLoyd and wrote many great songs and gave the band it's direction before his quick decent into drug induced madness. Then he was useless as an artist. It was a miracle he was able to pull off two solo albums after his forced departure, though I'm sure his producer held it all together for him.

8. Sid Viscious was a murderer
and had zero musical talent. He got inducted into the Rock n' Roll HOF, despite not playing a note on any of the Sex Pistols' studio recordings.

Syd Barrett, on the other hand, was an inspired musician, and something of a rock visionary.

11. "The Great Rock n' Roll Swindle..."
That about sums it up.

Sid Vicious wasn't a musician -- he was a fucking junkie who was in the Sex Pistols because he "looked cool." Could he even play bass??

The Sex Pistols belong in the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame...too bad they got to drag Sid along with them.
