Update on my found pup Lucy.
She has won the hearts of all six dogs & is even tolerated by Chairman Meow & Flea Taxi. (my two male cats) She has been observed "wrestling" with most of the dogs and she was allowed a dominant (on top) position with just playful attempts to get her off. I knew everything was going to be OK when PeeDee (the only female) started to instigate a play session.

Lucy the pup.

10. Vet receptionist insisted I name them for their records.
I remembered seeing someone use that handle on a message board so I went with it. Neither of the cats respond to their names so if they needed a name I gave them one, if only for the vet records.

13. Oh, it doesn't matter what she does. It can be cleaned up or fixed.
I was just so glad the other dogs took her in like they did. They really seem to welcome her into the pack.

24. Here ya go, updated photos.

The bite mark on her head has healed, unfortunately she decided she was going to try and take Buddy's smoked pigs ear which earned her one on the nose.

Buddy & Lucy this morning. He likes her.

16. Maybe not?
I like dogs a lot, I would never turn one away if there was any way possible to give it a home. I suspect it is a mutually beneficial arrangement. I get to laugh at the silly stuff she does and she gets a home. Seems fair to me.

12. FYI....
The Woolite Pods work wonders on pee stains and the smell.
We learned the hard way. Our dog is not 100% house trained.

14. No carpet here! (six dogs & two cats)
I made sure when I rehabbed the place it would be pet friendly. I couldn't let them in the house with carpet considering the shedding they do!

19. It will help those with carpeting! Thanks for the tip.
My old boss had to replace her carpeting after she raised a pup. I would never be so care free about pups if I had to worry about stains. (the smell is enough for me!)

21. Another thing that may or may not be more cost effective
I haven't priced out those pads but disposable diapers are a great substitute. They suck up A LOT of moisture.

17. Not in my "neighborhood".

Back yard.

Front yard.

They have never been on leash, I do have an "invisible fence" for the dogs.

26. she is unbelievably cute
and this is really strange, since I just found a cute young dog at the end of last week, and her name is Lucy too. It's an offshoot of the other dog's name, who was also a stray when I found him a year and a half ago (well, both are dumpees). It's supposed to be Lucy and Lucky, but we refer to the boy dog as Lucifer sometimes, since he is such a handful (not aggressive at all, just will not stay in any fence known to man, and we've tried, and is very pushy and impossible to make tired no matter how hard he plays). Not to mention the fact that he is now about 100 pounds...when I found him he was a little puppy of about 10 pounds. Glad your Lucy is working out and I hope I get to keep mine. :)
