Any Madeleine Peyroux fans?

I saw her in concert last week. She was good but her stage presence was pretty odd. I was wondering if anyone else has seen her live.

1. Did you see her at Hill Auditorium?

I heard the show was great; the only thing I heard about her stage presence was that it was way better than when she played a small show at the Ark last year.

3. I did see her at Hill

She had just about zero rapport with the audience. She just announced the names of the songs. And when someone in the band was taking a solo, she sort of rocked back and forth awkwardly, as if she didn't know what to do with herself. I got the feeling she doesn't like performing live.

4. Wow, it must have REALLY been bad at the Ark then

Maybe she has stage fright. Lots of performers do. But she's a great singer.

5. She's been around a long time

I think her first disc came out 8 years ago. And I heard somewhere that she used to be a busker on the streets of Paris.

2. I've never seen her live, but I've got all her CD's

I like her voice a lot. The first time I ever heard her she reminded me of Billy Holiday. :hi:
