2. Girls--or guys--who spend considerable amount of time...
...following some unknown local band around the country playing in tiny hole in the wall bars. And the music isn't even that good. I've known some of these groupies, and I just don't understand the motivation here.

5. Pity there aren't more people like that.
I wish more people would take an interest in their local music scenes, instead of ignoring all of it and just heading out to the basketball arena or football stadium to see whichever bigger-than-god band is passing through town.

6. Yeah, if the band is good....
But if it sucks--and face it, half of the local bands out there really blow--it all just seems like a lot of wasted time and money to me.

7. That's certainly true. However...
I think in most cases, the local music scene could use more support, not less. Hell, where I live in South Florida, it's like pulling teeth to get some people to go see a band at a neighborhood bar -- even if they're good!

8. One man's suckage...
In my opinion, 2/3's of the groups that have 'made it', and have been signed to a label suck as well. But that's just my opinion. I have more respect for someone supporting an unknown local group then I do someone doing the same with a well known mega-group that long ago lost any semblance originality or soul - but have the marketing aspect down solid.

Not to mention that your ticket prices will be a lot less if you aren't following the mega-group.
