He had a great year.

As much as I would have loved to have seen Beckett take it (especially given his post-season performance) you can't take away the year Sabathia had.

Some argue that the voting shouldn't take place until after the post-season... I don't know how I feel about that. I guess I can see it both ways. It would be a shame for a pitcher to not win a Cy Young just because his team didn't make the playoffs...
