MARATHON PICS ( man am I FAT!!)
I need to get out and get some damned excercise or something.

WOW

Seriously aside from posting a picture of myself on the web this is freaking frightening.

I had no idea I looked like this.

Note- I am NOT finishing for condolences or anything like that. Geesh I must have REALLY been a sight before all this started.

Okay--I warned you!!!

Link here I can't post them directly.

Now mind you that I DID run a 4:44 marathon (chip time). That IS a 1:49 per mile average. I DID pass about 1,100 people. http://journals.democraticunderground.com/underpants/106
Maybe they just got out of the way of THIS coming down the street at them.

The pic with the two ladies in black in front of my fat ass-they walk/ran for miles and miles and I never could get away from them until the very end.

Okay here goes nothing :scared:

7. mugging? you bastard, that's what i'd look like after 500 yards
personally, i think anyone in good enough shape to run a MARATHON (fer cryin' out loud) has no business referring to themselves as fat.

4. Congratulations Friend
4:44 is an awesome time. And you are your own worse critic so your opinion doesn't count. The pics are great. Dontcha just love endorphin highs.

Way back when me and the Mrs hit a 5K or 10K or half marathon about every other week, I recall only one picture being taken per runner. The more pictures the better.

16. Yeah
well I thought hell I FELT a lot thinner than that.

WOW

The endorphins were something else. The worst part really was the last 10 blocks on Cary Street. I just wanted it to be over and it just never seemed to end.

22. and its sponsored by a beer company!
do they give out free beer?

the St Louis Marathon has an Anheiser Busch tent at the end for runners. But theres always the Hashers around mile 24 handing out beers to the runners too.

25. 22
I got an email from the local Hashers-it said that for some reason they are always at mile 22. So if you are ever near a marathon and are wondering where there might be a party, go to mile 22.

Looks fun. I think I am going to join up with them and see what it is like.

27. I did some hashing when I was in the Army
fun people, for the most part. And some incredibly creative drinking songs. But if you like beer and running, they're a great group.

my hash name was "Reverend Chunky Monkey"

30. The Bubba Gump 5K in New Orleans
has mass quantities of free beer after the race plus outstanding food given away by Bubba Gump Restaurant (shrimp and pasta dishes.) The race starts and ends in front of Bubba Gumps on Decatur in New Orleans on a Sunday Morning. Its usually the last Sunday in April. We met a couple from New York who ran the race last year. They couldn't believe the gratuitous beer and beer drinking in the streets of the Big Easy. At ten in the morning. Let those good times roll.

10. Athletes are their own harshest critics, aren't they?
I gain 3 lbs and I'm all up in arms :eyes: So take it easy on yourself friend. You cannot possibly be so far out of shape if you ran a marathon.

23. You simply have to put in the miles
I did the Novice 1 scehdule

http://www.halhigdon.com/marathon/Mar00novice.htm

This is the basic model that every training/trainer uses with small changes made by individual coaches (adding their signature if you will)

Now that is easier said than done (lots of early early mornings and you HAVE to do the long weekend runs-no skipping those at all) but there were all kinds of people out there on Saturday making the trip. I wasn't the biggest by far.
