Can we all agree that Dane Cook is lamer than a one-legged dog?

I've seen dogs get around on three legs, I've seen them get around on two legs. I've never seen a one legged dog, but bet that that puppy will give everything he or she has to get around.

Dane Cook is just about the most unfunniest "comedian" I've ever had the displeasure to witness.

He makes a crippled critter seem like a goddamned inspiration.

I suffered through about half of one of his HBO specials, and that was it. How this guy ever got any further than college-town coffee houses is beyond me....

3. His jokes may be lame

but the guy knows how to sell a joke. He has that rare ability to ingratiate himself with an audience. It is a rare talent, and it has already launched him onto the big screen.

Steven Wright is a brazillion times more clever, but his shtick didn't translate. Pity.

Selling something and ingratiating oneself to an audience are traits possessed by every used car salesman in the country. And I'm willing to bet that Wright's routines will be attracting fans long after Clark's are forgotten....

They were this little known band way back in the 60's. We're talking about a should be little know comedian in the present days.

10. Worse than lame, a boil on a camel's butt is funnier than Dane Cook.

I'm wondering if he is funnier on camera than on tape. My daughter came home with some bits and pieces of his on her laptop and she played them for me and I really wasn't amused.

She organizes the comedy shows for her university (which is why she has a LOT of spots on her computer of comedians) and told me she inquired about booking Dane Cook for her school - he gets a whopping $1 million dollars/show PLUS the venue has to pay for his hotel, transport etc. I couldn't believe it, especially after listening to him rip women, atheists, handicapped people and more all within the space of about 10 minutes. She's at a Big 10 school and even they couldn't/wouldn't swing that kind of cash for Dane Cook. Really unfunny.

...and his delivery seems an unimaginative variation on Andy Rooney's "'Didja ever notice?" He's just monumentally unfunny.

And yet audiences laugh. Go figure.

through part of one of his routines and have wondered ever since how he has gotten so far. Maybe I should give comedy a try. I couldn't do any worse.
