I am thinking though that as a kid my family was in Green River with car problems

maybe they have some sort of car jamming beam... :silly:

Last August, when I was moving from Minnesota to southern California, my car broke down between Grand Junction, CO and Green River, UT. In fact, here is a photo of the exit sign where my car broke down.



Imagine my dismay at seeing the "No Services" listing on the sign.

19. I actually started having problems 30 miles from here...

...the 30 miles west, in the part where you go for 100 miles without services! Guess I should be grateful I made it back.

Pretty desolate out there.

When I called AAA, they told me that I would probably be towed to Green River. When the tow truck driver came, he said that he felt better about towing us back to Grand Junction. Took my car to an AWESOME and honest mechanic there and the mechanic worked quickly and inexpensively to get my car back on the road.

I think Las Vegas sucks and is vastly overrated. In fact, if someone gave me a choice of whether I wanted to go to Las Vegas again or to Green River, Utah, I'd pick Green River, Utah in a second.

But if Las Vegas is really where you want to go, then I'll feel bad for you anyways.
