NO more OFFICE. There are so few things to watch on the idiot box. So few damn things to take my mind off you know-the f'up planet we are living on.

Michael and Jan are supposed to have Jim and Pam over for dinner. That, my friends, is the hilariously genius Office episode that lies on the other side of the writers' strike, according to show runner Greg Daniels. And it makes my soul hurt. We fans deserve this funny!

Instead, after tonight's Michael-in-wilderness ep, we'll get only one more Office episode until the strike is over. Yep, you heard me. Next week could very well be the season finale of The Office if the dispute drags on.

~
Between congress and THIS, it is the end of the world. (also interesting article about why they are striking) Disclaimer-no mention of Hillary was found in this post.

Oh oh oh

1. Lost fans-it's very very bad

It looks like Lost will air eight episodes and then go dark. Does it sadden you that you're not able to deliver those 16 in a row that were promised to the fans?
Yes, it does.

Wow. Really?
Yes. And you'd be, like, oh my god, I can't believe I have to wait another year and two months for episode nine of this season.

7. Oh.My.God.
I remember when they decided to wait until jan to start the season. I was angry at first, but then I started rationalizing: "No more 6 week breaks in between episodes!" omfg.

2. I'm bummed that "24" is being shut down completely now.

This season was going to be great... or at least better than Season 6...

No Daily Show. No Colbert Report. No 24. Probably no Battlestar Galactica.

Damn.

3. You lose your TV show, I lose my year-end bonus.
I work in one of the businesses directly affected by the strike (entertainment law firm), and it's serious business. As painful as it'll be for a lot of us here in LA, I (and just about everybody I know in the industry) supports the writers.

It'll be a tough few months, but it needs to happen.

4. Agreed.
The writers deserve a bigger slice of the pie. There are some true creative geniuses out there, and they deserve better compensation.

6. That, and the whole area of "new media" has to be defined regarding compensation.
We've got two other unions with contracts expiring after the WGA's, so this one's critically important to see how things are going to shake out across the board. It's been 20 years since the WGA negotiated anything, so since then you've got the internet and DVDs and several other areas that are currently undefined in the contract, and therefore there's no compensation, generally speaking.

5. Does anyone know what's happening to The L Word?
If I don't get my Season 5 fix in January, I'm going to be pissed.

I NEED to know what happens to the Bette/Jodi relationship, among other things...

10. What did people
do before TV was invented?

I'll just watch something I don't usually watch for a change. Or, read a book.
