So, I'm sure even minimal TV watchers have heard that Cat Stevens cover on the diamond commercial..."I want to tell you, that I love you...I love you..." I think it's a good song. I like her voice. It doesn't quite stand up to how often it's played. But it's good.
Until recently I had no idea who the artist was.
Then I saw Feist on Saturday Night Live. They played 2 awesome songs. Her voice sounds so much like the diamond commercial singer, I was sure that it was Feist who covered the Cat Steven Song.
I looked up Feist, and couldn't find a recording of that cover. I did some hunting and discovered it was Cat Power who did the cover.
I've actually met Cat Power, but never heard her play. She used to play at a club where a worked, but the club has 4 stages, and I was never working in the same room as her.
I wish I would have caught one of her shows now.
Anyway, I haven't bought any music in ages. I think I'll go out and get some Feist and some Cat Power.
Does anyone who knows them have a suggestion as to which albums to start with?
They look the same too.
