1. Used to, but I get this burn sensation in my chest if I drink it.
I might have half a cup of decaf once a month just for the taste.

to wake up. Now, I just pop a caffeine pill. That works much quicker.

I have an edgy enough personality without it and it ends up making me jittery and sick to my stomach. I do like it tho but not the caffeine. I still use a little in my instant cocoa in the winter instead of water.

12. I don't like the taste very much, and I try to limit my caffeine intake.
I *can* drink it, but it has to be practically smothered in sugar, cream, or mocha-chocolate flavoring so that it tastes more like "sweet treat" and less like "coffee". :hi:

13. Because it's the most bitter substance in the universe
after Xanax. Honestly, if I have to mix it half and half with cream and put an inch of sugar in it to make it palatable, what's the point? :P

It does gross out my cow-irkers when I have the occasional cup at work though.

45. Since you brought it up...
In the military, we used to take the little packets of instant coffee from the MRE and use the stuff like dip. We'd pur it behind our bottom lip and just let it soak in. It took three weeks to get the taste out of your mouth, but sometimes you just need a good caffeine rush.

37. First of all, it tastes terrible.
That aftertaste . . . how can ANYone get used to that?

It makes the entire surrounding area smell bad. It makes breath smell horrid. Then having to watch the stuff people do to it with the creamers and foams and sugars to make it white and worse-smelling . . .

Bad news all around. I'd rather just drink water.

43. Um, because I don't like the taste.
I love the smell of coffee brewing, the scent of ground coffee, coffee ice cream and drinking Kahlua, but I don't like the taste of coffee. My husband keeps trying to tell me that if I try this type or that brand, I'll love it. Hasn't happened yet, and at 54 years of age, I'm pretty sure it's not going to happen. I do love me tea however - hot or cold, strong and nothing in it to dilute the taste.

50. Because I take the caffeine pills instead
At some point, making coffee seemed pointless to me, so I started taking caffeine tablets.

But one of my longer term goals is to get off of caffeine altogether. But quite honestly, it is the last thing on my list. Caffeine seems to have some scientifically validated medical health benefits, and it is not truly addictive--at least according to the latest textbooks on addiction.

For me, Nicotine gum and meat come before quitting caffeine. Also, it is probably healthier to drink coffee than to take pills because there are many antioxidants in the coffee itself.
