6. Dylan's just upgraded from that Buick 8
From A Buick 6 lyrics

I got this graveyard woman, you know she keeps my kid
But my soulful mama, you know she keeps me hid
She's a junkyard angel and she always gives me bred
Well, if I go down dyin' you know she bound to put a blanket on my bed.

Well, when the pipeline gets broken and I'm lost on the river bridge
I'm cracked up on the highway and on the water's edge
She comes down the thruway ready to sew me up with thread
Well, if I go down dyin' you know she bound to put a blanket on my bed.

Well, she don't make me nervous, she don't talk too much
She walks like Bo Diddley and she don't need no crutch
She keeps this four-ten all loaded with lead
Well, if I go down dyin' you know she bound to put a blanket on my bed.

Well, you know I need a steam shovel mama to keep away the dead
I need a dump truck baby to unload my head
She brings me everything and more, and just like I said
Well, if I go down dyin' you know she bound to put a blanket on my bed.

Last night I listened to Blood on the tracks again. It's a fucking masterpiece. A few nights ago it was Planet Waves. Before that it was John Wesley Harding. Etc. Etc.

It's his music and it's without parallel.

16. Sept. 30 in Bridgeport, CT.
Great show. Amos Lee opened, very good, best band nobody's heard of. Then Elvis Costello did a very entertaining solo set. Then Bob and his band .... they were very good.

A great night!

but those are the bluest eyes I have ever seen. If I ever spent a few minutes with a woman who had eyes like that, I'd be a goner.

18. Why should they (we)? Selling out is a dated concept.
Getting your music in an ad means getting it heard by thousands of people that wouldn't otherwise hear it. Just because you're an artist doesn't mean you should starve.

Now, if your music is in an ad for, say, Blackwater, you might have a point.

i am not a Dylan fan so this ad doesn't bother me either way. I like some of the songs he's written that other people have sung, when he sings them--no.

28. I'm kind of in the same boat as you. Not a fan.
But selling out is selling out, and I think those are some elaborate acrobatics that his defenders go through when they say "by selling out bob is actually doing the most rebellious thing possible" Yeah I get that he's surprising and shocking some people, but he could do that by crapping his pants or something and that wouldn't make it impressive or admirable either.

and he presents a very very fine radio show.

He's in the Cadillac Demographic nowadays.......and, at least Union guys build Caddies......
