Youtube has stopped working for me.
The videos are simply not there, no outline, no nothing, just a white area on the screen,

The comments, the related videos, the menus, all show up,

Videos embedded in other sites, such as Crooks and Liars, work on those sites.
:freak:
Any ideas, Lounge?

Thanks in advance.

:hi:

1. Install another browser, and try again.
A new installation of Opera or Firefox could tell you a lot. If you are behind someone else's firewall, though, that might be the cause right there.

2. Hmmmm,
I just tried through Internet Exploder (and had to go looking to find it) and Youtube seems to work on that venue. Maybe a Firefox issue?

3. Maybe. I'm not up on all the plug-ins available for Firefox...
...but simply restarting Firefox (new version came out yesterday, and may have auto-updated for you) may help. Or rebooting?

5. I had some issues with that very thing on Firefox about two weeks ago
Seemed to resolve itself.

I think Reverend Smitty had the same problem as well.

Maybe wait and see?

7. I was youtubeless for like two days
Maybe try doing a manual update to Firefox. It was really weird.

11. yep same thing happened to me
I literally jumped through every troubleshooting hoop on that damn website and nothing worked then *poof* youtube was working again for me. I have no idea why and I suppose it was something wrong on their end not mine...hopefully if you are lucky it will come back on its own in a day or two

9. You may need to update your Flash plugin
Type "about:plugins" into the Firefox address field to see the versions you have installed. For Shockwave Flash mine reads:

Shockwave Flash

File name: NPSWF32.dll
Shockwave Flash 9.0 r47

Youtube works okay for me. I recall other posters with this problem had to remove the installed version before installing the latest plugin.

10. are you running the "adblock" plugin?
if so, check your filters under the "tools" menu option. you might have accentually added a youtube filter as blocked content.

if the above is true, removing the filter will restore the content.

That would ruin my internet experience :)
