Shitty night tonight. Feeling PMSish and depressed.
Ball and chain is out with a friend, and now I'm alone in the apartment with our doggie.

For some reason, it's been a rough day mentally, even though work was a breeze (there was nothing to do at work so the other lab technicians and I decided to dissolve various office supplies in acids--it was that slow) and it has been just an overall mellow day. But my god, for some reason, I'm in a god awful mood and feel anxious and depressed over a lot of different things.

Right now I'm listening to Nirvana's "Nevermind" and having a glass of African red wine.

Who else is out there and having a "meh" day?

2. Yeah.
Do you ever have those moods where you can't "get" the world as it exists?

You read the paper and just have a "?" over your head?

I was listening to NPR at work today, and I had one of those moments when they were discussing the trouble with Bush's AG nominee. The whole notion of needing classified information to conclude whether or not waterboarding is torture struck me as so hilariously pathetic I just kinda sighed and felt sick.

10. I have to keep busy
If I'm at that point where I turn to the microbiologist and say, 'you know, I wonder how much nitric acid it would take to dissolve a whole pack of paper clips' it's a bad day to me because it means we have nada to do.

12. It's because she can't put a packet sniffer on the network
and grab passwords.

11. Well...
We are trying to conceive for the last two years. For one year I am taking my temperature every morning to chart my basal temperature. I have ovulation strips I pee on for about 10 days out of my cycle. We ordered "Fertell" (http://www.fertell.com/ for $99)to have some measure on his and my fertility. I came home today to find him totally depressed about that damn thing not working (not to mention that what he did to get his sperm in there without me). He had to call them and explain everything to have them send a replacement.

I am 43 and I dated shitty guys all my life. I always wanted to have children but never dated any guy that would have been "dad material". I meet Ralph six years ago and we got married this September. I know how it feels to be depressed. I've been there before. It just seems worse now.

We all have to deal with shitty stuff. It all feels bad. I don't want to minimize your feelings...but I know it will get better soon :hi:

13. Although I'm a guy, I've had PMS
...That's "Post" Menstrual Syndrome. The goal posts were always changing, and no matter how much I wanted to make her happy -- what pleased her one day might blow up in my face the next.

To your credit, my ex wife wasn't as contemplative as yourself (and I'm not saying that I was a easy to live with either).

Bottom line, couples have to respect each others' differences and refuse to throw out the baby with the bathwater.

I don't think you're the type of person who would do what my wife did. After two weeks of marriage, she took off her wedding rings in front of me because she hated herself so much that she couldn't respect me for loving her.
