45 years old and I have my first office!!

I'm enjoying this so much. If I want to shut my door I do, and no one questions it. I can put my phone on "do not disturb" if I need to. I listen to my iPod on the stereo. If I want to get a betta or some other fish, I can. People bring ME things to sign rather than the other way around. People order chairs and computers for ME instead of the other way around. I could definitely get used to this - but I will never forget that I was a secretary for a long time, and I know what it's like.

There's some semblance of privacy, but it's too easy for someone to pop his or her head over the top and spy on you, isn't it?

The only time I ever had real privacy at a place of employment was when I was a secretary once. The manager hated me-- and I use the term hate appropriately. He stuck me in what used to be a file room (with no windows) thinking I would hate it. When he realized I loved it, he moved me out of the file room and into the middle of a hallway! Just to irritate him, I pretended to love that too! lol The idiot was demoted, eventually, and then I quit! Never been a secretary since... and never will be. (if they even have them anymore!)
