4. My own lemonade.
For one glass, eyeballing here: I take the juice of 4 small lemons, or 3 large (I like it tart)-using a stainless steel hand-held press into a bowl, works great, easy cleanup. Pour the juice through a sieve into the glass. Then I add a little bit of maple syrup, maybe a tablespoon, fill the glass halfway with water. Then I put in maybe a tablespoon of blackstrap molasses. Mix like hell. Then add water to fill it to the top. Mix just a little more. Put it in the freezer till it's almost like a slush. Put in a straw and drink it down. Obviously, it doesn't look like traditional lemonade, it looks dark from the molasses, but it tastes fantastic.

The molasses and syrup don't have as 'sharp' or 'cloying' a sweetness as sugar. It's a more complex, and smoky kind of drink. Plus you do get some nutritional value from the molasses and lemons. Works great with limes too, whichever is cheaper at the time.

I always add a little bit of fresh ginger to my lemonade. Have you ever tried that?

10. Ginger, huh?
No, I haven't, but I'm always up for experimenting. Although, my 'lemonade' will probably not bear much resemblance to lemonade by the time I'm through.

9. R.W. Knudsen juices are pricey, but generally very good
However, I don't recommend their unsweetened cranberry juice unless you have a urinary tract infection and/or you want to get a lot of puckering done.
