"The Battle in Washington: What role should government play to ensure that the public airways carry quality programming? Join key government regulators in an open discussion about the role of government in advocating quality programming and regulating offensive content."
Funny, I thought that regulation was unAmerican and market competition should determine what products corporations would offer... so if you get assaulted by a jar of peanut butter, or poisoned by lead paint on toys, you should just not buy those products anymore, and the market will eventually self-regulate. Why does that hold true for necessary products that can actually physically harm or kill you, but NOT for simple entertainment programming?
Not to mention, why can't we regulate some journalistic standards for truth and equal time and diversity of opinion?
I can imagine that cruising with these people would be SO much fun... be great to take 20 porn stars and have them just fucking and sucking in plain sight all over the boat...
