Guys who wear bow ties....
Edited on Thu Nov-01-07 09:52 AM by PeterU
I don't understand the concept of a guy wearing a bow tie who isn't:

a) Also wearing a matching tuxedo
b) A chauffeur or valet parker
c) A member of the Nation of Islam

What possesses someone to wake up and decide, "Hey, I want to wear a bow tie for the hell of it"? What is it that drives a person to want to look like Pee Wee Herman? What is there to be gained from wearing something that makes one expect you also to have a fake flower lapel pin that shoots water?

I just don't understand the concept of a grown man wearing a bow tie except under the aforementioned limited circumstances.

Can someone enlighten me?

2. My brother wears them.
And he looks downright dashing. His wife thinks so, too.

3. maybe they want to break from convention
I wear hats a lot - bowlers, fedoras, pork pies, old driving caps - pretty much everything but ballcaps. Sure, sometimes people make fun of me, but I look damn good and I get plenty of compliments too!

I don't get into bowties, but if someone wants to do something different, far be it for me to say anything.

6. Costume designers
I know one who wears one to opening night because he feels people would be disappointed if he didn't dress the part. But, his cardinal rule is NO CLIP-ON.
