Anyone have a neighbor
that genuinely pisses them off? I do...and he is a flag waving, mean spirited, neo-con staunch Republican right down to his toes. I am seriously considering this solution....

1. Two houses over...
There are the folks who blast loud music and chatter out on the patio until 5:30 in the morning

6. Yeah, but...
They never seem to abide by it, despite our complaints. A couple of times we've had to call the police to come by and tell them to quiet down.

Plus, they park their cars (about 5 or 6 of them) on the lawn. Not by the curb by the side of the lawn, mind you, but actually on the lawn.

3. Eh, not regularly or anything.
He keeps his motorcycle on the patio that's directly underneath mine... and this past weekend he started the engine and for some reason just let it idle there for a few minutes. At 8:30 a.m. on Saturday morning. I didn't like him too much that day!

He used to have wild, loud parties till all hours with his neighbors downstairs... which I didn't care about really... but those neighbors moved out so now he's mostly quiet. He pretty much keeps to himself lately.

30. you do what you gotta do.
LOTS of bikes get stolen, after you build one from scratch, you want to keep it in your possession! when i didn't have a garage, i built a triumph in my living room, then when i rode it i kept it in the house. had a whole system down, putt around the house through the back yard, down a 20 foot wooden ramp i made because my front door was 3 feet below grade, the ramp is fun in the rain...turn the bike around a sharp corner by picking up the rear of it, stop, remove left footpeg to fit through the door, wiggle it through the door, honey, i'm home!

i was on a weekend ride with buddies, someone followed us home, and nabbed his bike from a locked shed behind his house the night we returned. bikers get paranoid for a reason.

that said, it's certainly rude to let it idle on the patio in the morning!

My cousin kept his motorcycle in the kitchen. Since his wife moved out, he now keeps it in the dining room.

Next time they go at it (which could be at any moment) I'll snap a few pictures. Sometimes they end up on the lawn taking swings at one another. They're in their 80's.

15. Grumpy old Men
What a riot  I remember your thread from yesterday...you are staying until March where you are then you may want to consider Maine. NH pays crap and MA is expensive as hell...Maine doesn't pay all that great like MA or Jersey BUT it pays better than where you are now and NOT to expensive to live there. Easier to get by and the quality of life is unsurpassed. (Walton's Mountain) It is just beautiful there...folks are progressive and politically cool.... worth a thought. Here is the website of the local paper to get an idea of jobs and rent...felt bad for you as I have been there and done that.

but different isn't always bad. Here is a clip from Melanie's (Candles in the Rain)journal...she spent this past summer in Maine and it says it all...if you weren't born there then "you are from away"...

I sent that to you a few weeks ago. How did you make out with the tree? Are you going to leave it till spring and see if it comes back?
BTW...you need to keep that neighbor AWAY from your mom...your mom is too nice and people like your neighbor take advantage of nice people.

18. She fucked with my dogs, so I piss on her flowers.
Our two fences have 2' between them, so she can't blame the dogs.

When I have had to let the dogs out in the middle of the night, I went out with them. I've been stepping over MY fence, getting right up to hers and taking a whiz on some flowers she fucks with all the time, so I know they are her faves.

As it gets colder (and I will stop when the snow flies) I'll piss in a cup and TOSS it on the plants so I don't have to whip it out in the cold.

23. Hey this is a MILD response.
First, she SUED me over a 30 year old easement I knew nothing about.

THEN, she says, "I don't want another fence on your side of the property. Use the Electronic Fence."
I say, "Herding dogs don't care about Pain, and I don't have 6 months to train them."
Says She, "That's YOUR problem, not mine. DON'T put up another fence; I don't like the way it will look."

So I did, and she reported me to Animal Control. Unbeknownst to me, Council had changed the law from the state statute (one we didn't violate) to one we did (3 dogs and/or cats: no more). City says, we'll be HAPPY to take them away for you.

Long story short, ordnance is being changed, but she still reports us, once a week like clockwork.

She's lucky I don't spray the god damned plants with ROUND UP in my opinion.

DO NOT fuck with my pets.

28. She's 85 and a miserable old bitch, lives with her divorced daughter.
Get this: the DAUGHTER works for Michigan State University Veterinary College. What an asshole.

I have spoken to other denizens on the block and the common consensus is that she doesn't have the common decency to die and take her nasty old ass out of our misery.

One comment was: "She's too MEAN to die."

31. The daughter is BROKE and lives there at the pleasure of the bitch.
When we were resolving the easement "crisis" I needed a survey of the property, which they had. Daughter says "Other daughter has access to safety deposit box, I don't, so go get your own." I didn't have $700 to spend on it at the time (was during my unemployed period this spring), So we signed anyway. Turned out, the lawyer had a copy, and it was part of our package.

Bitch Junior. I've since figured out that other daughter isn't much better, and Bitch Junior has complained to a couple of local gossips that she ain't gittin' the house: it will have to be sold (in this depressed market) and then spit with the other Bitch Daughter.

Do I feel sorry for any of them? HA.

You can actually write dirty words in her front lawn
at nite with salt, a few good dews....well, just say
traffic will slow down looking at her yard, and it won't
be for her flowers.

Not like I know from experience.... :yoiks:

34. Right above me.
He thinks the buildng is his own private nightclub. Heavy stereo bass is on the rise like last winter, when the project management sent him a letter. In fact he cranked it up at 7 am this morning. I already had a bad night's sleep from it going late into the night. Since civility is now out, I'm about to read him the riot act and give him the fear of Odin. I'm not the only one. A new neighbour has been blasted, too.

Time also for some sneak attacks a la Earth First! strategy - Don't tell anyone and don't get caught.

39. Neighbors with loud stereos can be dealt with
using the magnetron out of an old microwave oven and some waveguide. If you share a wall (or floor, or ceiling)with said neighbor, the addition of ozone will compound the effects.

Not that I have any personal experience with such devices.
