We had one a couple years ago that I heard coming toward me, felt the shake, then heard it going away. Very strange.

44. Fundie woman calling KCBS in San Francisco
She was in Eastridge Mall in San Jose, which is within 10 miles of the epicenter. She described "absolute pandemonium" but said, "I'm a Christian so I felt no fear" and "I felt the hand of the lord on me."

The lord shaketh and the lord feeleth up.

47. Yup, it was a doozy, alright!
my kids (11 and almost 14) were home alone at the time, so I was pretty freaked out about them. MrShine and I were both away at our respective different activities and the kids were by themselves for a little bit. Fortunately they were fine and MrShine came home early to be with them.

It really lasted a long time! How are you doing? :hi:

50. Relax. It was just some garage band practicing their Metallica covers.
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2007/10/31/MN7FOGO71.DTL

Guitarist A.J. Flores was at his San Jose home playing with his band when the quake hit. A lamp and guitar fell over amid the shaking.

"Yeah, man, we thought we were really rocking out," Flores said, adding that the musicians quickly realized it was an earthquake and not their Metallica cover song that caused the ruckus.
