1. Write.
However, I don't think I read enough to accomplish this.

3. Oh, read, definitely.
I have a compulsion to write, but it's always difficult and stop/start. Reading is so easy and enjoyable.

6. Write
Which is why I'm spending all these hours reading Lounge posts.

:eyes: <----rolling at myself

I seem to be having some major avoidance issues lately.

7. Write.
But to be a good writer you have to be a good reader too. :)

8. 'It is better to have written than to write."
I believe Dorothy Parker said that, it's one of my favorites sayings. I'd rather write. When I'm finished for the day I read.

11. My dear graywarrior!
I would rather write!

I love the act of creation, myself...

Reading is a lot more passive...

Well, it can be, anyhow...

Of course, it depends on what you're reading!

Maybe that's why I have so damned many posts!

:hi:

13. Write during the day and read at night
I always feel like reading is the fuel for the writing; it keeps me inspired. Although I haven't written much in some time, all my creative bursts coincided with a new release from one of my favorite authors. Reading is my reward for writing, and it reminds me why I bother to write.

14. I used to want to be a writer. But writing interfered with my reading.
So now I'm just a reader. B-)

17. Nutty as it sounds, I sorta know what you mean.
The moment I began to write about cinema, it ruined my ability to watch the movies I was writing about. It's almost a spiritual relationship between human and art.

18. P.S.
Not to put words in your mouth--I was just guessing at your meaning. But the moment I saw it, I felt that I knew what you are saying.

15. Yes.
However, as creative a person as I am, and as good as I am at crafting things with words... I SUCK as a storyteller. :) So I haven't written anything in a while.

Actually, most of what I've learned in the last few years about storytelling has been from me stepping away from the books and watching TV for a change. It's given me a slightly different perspective on how to create drama and interesting storylines. I think I've learned more about storytelling from Joss Whedon than I have from all the books I've read in the last few years.
