Help! Why won't Youtube work on my computer anymore?

Every time I try and open up a video on that site it says "Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player." except I did update flash and I didn't do anything to my Javascript, what the hell is going on? Anyone have any answers for this problem?

6. Do you get that response from all the videos on youtube?

I received the same message when trying to view a video the other day. I checked others and they played okay. I just wrote it off as one video being in an odd format or posted incorrectly.

there used to be a link where I could click back to the "old version" of the site (I guess before they changed the flash requirements) but now I can't even do that. Every video I get the same message. I tried uninstalling flash and re-installing it and still nothing but if I try and play the youtube videos through google or on a site like DU, they work. I don't get it

It says if all else fails clear your cache and cookies.

This is probably a good suggestion for many browser issues.

I'm going to try it because I have no other choice...it's just going to be such a pain in the ass re-entering all my saved fields

23. You don't have to clear them at the same time.

Try the cache first. That's the most likely solution. Clear the cookies as a last resort.

12. Double check your Javascript

Maybe you did something to it by accident, or maybe someone else who shares your computer did. It's obviousley not a problem with your flash player, since you did the update, so you should just make sure your JavaScript is working properly.

15. how do I do that?

I don't recall changing anything and I'm the only one who uses this computer. I went into my firefox options window and enable javascript was checked off...what else should I check?

youtube also doesn't work on IE

Sometimes flash will act goofy on Mozilla, but work fine on IE. :shrug:

Uninstall Flash Player: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157&sliceId=1
Then reinstall the new version.

This is a common problem. Make sure you do the complete uninstall and then reinstall the most recent Flash Player version for your computer.
