Bands/artists you missed ( and you wish you hadn't!)
Edited on Mon Oct-22-07 11:18 PM by tigereye
(inspired by the bands you've seen list!)

Minutemen
The Who
Midnight Oil (my old band was always playing a gig or I was out of town)
Betty Carter
The Stones (just never did)
Sex Pistols
Moxy Fruvous
Dorothy Donegan - I should have gone that night in Toronto
The Distillers
The Methadones
The Queers
The Runaways
B 52s
Dizzy Gillerpie and other jazz greats - I didn't care about jazz when they were alive, or missed my chance.
Sarah Vaughn
The Pretenders

2. the singer went into politics, I think. the band broke up.
and then he had a stroke or something...

I wanted to see them so badly. None of my friends could understand why I liked them. They were a great, tight band with excellent hooks and songs.

Sonny passed away in '86.

7. :sigh: I wish I'd seen the Minutemen too!
I did see the Who and The Queers on your list, otherwise I am with you on a lot of those. I also still have not seen Tom Waits, Joe Jackson Band, or Elvis Costello yet!

And I wish I'd seen Strummer before he died too!

9. oh you HAVE to see Costello!
Edited on Mon Oct-22-07 11:16 PM by tigereye
He is amazing. And I'm not just saying that. One of the best shows I've seen in years, and he played for 3 hours! Incredible. Plus he had Emmy Lou Harris with him.

I did get to see the Clash and I'm glad I did. It was during the Sandinista period. ( I think)

16. yeah, 13th floor Elevators - wow.
I've seen the Cynics a number of times - they channel them in this period of time.

And the Kinks would have been great!
