1. OMG me! me!
Yeah, I'm revealing my age!

I remember crying too, whenever I saw it. (Hey, I'm old but not ancient--I was a sensitive little kid in the early '70s!)

Thanks for the blast from the past, Roon!

3. That commercial was effective on me when I was a kid
I was (and still am) intolerant of littering. I know this will make me seem like a crotchety old woman (because I am) but it seems to me like people too young to remember that ARE more likely to litter.

6. I HATE people that litter
When my Mother was dating my Step-Father my Step-Father threw an empty bottle of champaign out the window of his caddy. My Mother made him stop and go back and pick it up!! He should have known better, he was fifty something. Of course, when you drink, you do things you wouldn't normally do.

So I give him that.

9. All who are born in America...
Are native to the land, and are native Americans... That's why my very good friend called his organization, "The California Indian Law Association." And he referred to us as American Indians.

Legalese, I know, but in Allogan's memory, I'm always ready to keep up his efforts:)

10. I learned to appreciate the American Indian culture
when I went to Job Corps in Nemo South Dakota. We arrived at 1am and the staff member who showed us to our bunks was named Jerry Runs-After. I thought he was kidding!!! I grew my hair long and started braiding it and joined the other American Indians when they went to their yearly Pow-Wow. I even knew a couple of people who had suspension scars from the Sundance festival. I never got into it that much, but it was interesting to talk to these folks who endured that! Ouch!!

11. I'm so watered down...
there are few Indian names left in the family, but I remember being taught songs in a Pawnee dialect when I was very young. I have cousins, beeeeeeeautiful cousins, who are not so diluted and still look very much like our ancestors. I love the culture, even the ouchie ew stuff:) I try not to say that here too much though! hehe
