Poll question: Reading Habits (Boring Poll, sorry, but I need to know...)
I'll post a fun, or at least, more interesting, poll soon.

HOW MUCH DO YOU READ? For purposes of this poll, I am talking about books, not newspapers, magazines, or web sites.

I think the best way is to look at a large period of time. To the best of your recollection, how many books did you read during 2003?

1. I stopped reading books for the same reason I stopped buying little debbie
If I start one I read it all the way through non-stop. Nine hours or more in one spot is bad for the body.

7. After Which?
Eating the 12 swiss cake rolls or the nine hours of reading?

My middle feels like pudding after option 1.

12. I dont either
I don't even go to the bathroom.

I mean, when I start eating little debbie swiss cake rolls, I can't stop either. So I haven't bought a box in 10 years. Its funny I dont eat snacks generally, but that one was my weakness.

Its the same with a book. When I was a freshman in college, i read Ayn Rands Atlas Shrugged from front to back over one really sad weekend. Sadly, it wasn't even a good book.

Mostly non "sophisticated" stuff like star trek but I love reading.

But one thing I'm not intellectual or anything I just started to love reading when my dyslexia got better

8. I'm arguing with a friend about whether liberals or conservatives
are bigger readers.

I don't want to include magazines and web sites because time spent reading usenet or Sports Illustrated or whatever isn't germane to the debate.

As someone who's always online and has uh, one, two, three, four magazines within arm's reach at this moment, I'm not prejudiced. :-)

5. I don't really judge by number of books
so much as what I learned of a given subject, and where my intellectual proclivities take me in a given year. I think I read 2-3 books a month. That's about as fast as I can read and still digest the material appropriately.

Once I pick up a book about a subject or by a particular author, I want to read all the books in that series or on that subject (or most of the best ones anyway).
