A what Time are you from, Thread
Manys the time here at the moof hut when it seems like moof
is in the wrong time because this is certaianly a wrong place.

So if you alone got to make one pass thru the time machine/door/portal
what time would you set the destination dial to. No changing history on this trip, just say where in time you would go and why ?

moof sets the machine for 2442 A.D. & waves good bye to any DU pals.

Hopefully it's all over one way or the other by then.
Either a civilized enlightened society,
a planet devoid of other human beings or
maybe somewhere in between but that seems as unlikely.

1. 100 years (or so) in the future
I'd see the results of all the good, and bad, we've been doing.

Which means I might just end up on a lifeless orb. But them's the breaks.

2. I'm going to be a total dork on this one.
And say 2006. The PS3 will be out and we'll have a new president by then.

Some of us are easy to please I guess. ;)

3. well that was nice post till the realization set in ...
that in a fair election, no matter who won it there would be a new president since there is no President now.

5. Try sleeping a lot, it is almost time travel
before you know it the PS3 will be out, and you will be well enough rested that you can put off sleeping just to play till your eyes fall out.

I shouldn't talk, I was supposed to go into NYC tonight for a friends 21st birthday, but my three friends came over and we started playing NFL Street because it was only 5 and we didn't need to leave for a few hours. 8 hours later we all of a sudden realize that we forgot to go out.

That was the time of Genghis Kahn and invading hordes.

I wouldn't want to be in it, but I would like to see what life was like back and how he changed Asia, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe.

1938
Technology and the human population seemed, at that time, to have arrived at the points where the Earth could support them without being overly threatened by them.

Besides, the airplanes were tres cool!

7. Paris in the 20s
I would have really dug hanging with all the artists and writers in the cafes, being decadent and experiencing all the culture firsthand. Maybe even have been an artist's model.

Oooh La La!

Yeah, and what do you want to bet me and Bill Gates swap places. Ok, so maybe thats changing history, but too bad, should have made me sign a waiver.
