need job interview good vibes
Interviewing this afternoon and I'm incredibly nervous. Actually I think I might be starting to have an anxiety attack and it probably wouldn't be a good idea to interview after taking Xanax would it?

1. Knock back the Xanax with a shot of Scotch. You'll do great.

17. Yes
In the airline biz, anyway. Of course, they give you 20 minutes to get to the drug testing center. And, yes, while Xanax is a prescribed drug, I'm not sure how some employers might view it.

7. Do **not** take Xanax (aka the big eraser)
That stuff is garbage. You can do it... relax... breathe... think, in your mind, of your favorite peaceful spot. Feel it...

Good luck!!

16. Uh...
To people with panic disorder, Xanax is not "garbage" or a "big eraser."

I am quoting from a headline from Consumer Reports magazine: "Xanax: The Big Eraser." It's not a term I made up out of thin air. And, I have personally witnessed more than one person's brain become fried from the use of these kinds of prescription drugs.

Xanax has been found to wipe out long term memory. And the memory loss is permanent. It is hard to panic or worry about anything when one no longer has a memory, though, I suppose.

Just so you are aware, I was trying to help-- not just make a bitter accusation. I am sorry if you viewed it as such. I took the drug, myself, until I happened to read that article. And I was glad I did read about it. So I let others know too. Contrary to what some may think, I don't post simply to be hateful.

On a final note: Once all other options have failed (counseling, bio feedback, meditation/yoga, etc) I can understand where a person might need anti anxiety meds to function in modern day society... but I just hate to see drugs like Xanax used as widely as they are. I mean... think of it this way... didn't millions of people function quite nicely before those drugs? OK.. maybe not some... but those kinds of meds still don't need to be used as much as they are (IMHO).

11. thanks all -- I have a followup interview tomorrow
They seemed disappointed that my experience wasn't more recent so I'm not sure what's going to happen. Thanks for the good vibes. I know if this doesn't pan out that something will eventually. The process is just nerve wracking
