Is it possible I have some sort of anger management disorder?
Just recently I went on a rather big tirade against BNC Bank and actually cussed out my mom on the phone just because she works there, even though she had nothing to do with my problem, and now I'm wondering if something's wrong. I have a tendency to develop obsessive hatreds over minor things, such as going on many rants about how much I hate suburbs simply because I prefer living in urban areas despite the crime and traffic issues and in the past have had relatives suggest I should move to some suburb instead of the inner Twin Cities to avoid those things even though that goes completely against what I'm interested in and would never do it. But at the same time, no one was really trying to FORCE me to live in any suburbs. It happened when I was younger too, I would yell at and hit my brothers over minor incidents, and once got in a fight with a kid over a trivial video game console argument. My middle school years I had such a hatred of Sega I boycotted everything Sega including arcade games and refused to be friends with anyone who played it. I yelled at random kids I had never met before if they were wearing a shirt of anything Sega related. I would even do things like throw rocks at random skateboarders because I had a rivalry at school with a group of kids who liked to skateboard.

Have you heard of anything of this type before?

1. LOL I guess you would have pelted me with stones 'cause I owned a Sega Genesis...
You might consider some breathing exercises or meditation...That certainly couldn't hurt.

2. How do you handle changes & things in your life you have no
control over?

4. Usually not that difficultly
I just tend to obsess over trivial things that make me mad and hold grudges for a very long time.

6. Still sounds (to me) like control issues rather than anger. n/t

3. It's not impossible.
I'm no psychiatrist, but I thought your thread about the white t shirt was pretty angry - yelling at your mom puts it over the top. If you're really concerned, a visit to a counseler or therapist couldn't hurt...

7. Something else I should point out
is that many things that DO make most people rather angry I have little problem with. This summer when I was hanging out in Indianapolis I was actually pretty calm when a drunk high school kid was throwing up on and throwing rocks at my car. Most people wouldn't be. I'm also usually only annoyed when things happen like some drunks in my apartment building's hallway wake me up in the middle of the night, I never get outraged over this.

It's just little things that drive me insane.
