As the dormouse said, feed your head.
I'm on a quest. It is an important quest. I am on a mission to discover all the great music there is in the world. I've been working many years toward expanding my musical horizons- classic rock, old timey gospel, rockabilly, country AND western, jazz, blues, Gregorian, and on. I'm always delighted to discover a group I have never heard before, and I won't hesitate to spread the word once I find something exceptional.

I accept the fact that Blues Traveler is a well-established group, and many here have no doubt heard them. That's fine- the simple fact is, I personally have NOT heard them before now.

They are exquisite.

I consider a day when I discover a group like Blues Traveler to be a GOOD day. A righteous day. An EXCEPTIONAL day.

If you already know of them, cool- you already know what I'm talking about. If you haven't, take a moment to listen to them. I guarantee you won't regret it.

1. I have one of John Popper's harmonica's right here!
I love Traveler. Seen a bunch of shows. Seen Popper jam with Jerry Garcia, the GratefuL Dead, Phish and many others.

Always plays a different show. I love the song "Sweet talking Hippie".

Have you ever heard of String Cheese Incident? To me they are the mind blowing band of all time. every show is different. They play hundreds of songs. they have a very positive message. Check em out.

4. he is an incredibly deep spirit within an libertarian tough-guy exterior.
I just love how introspective he is.

Wow, I can't beleive the link is "Mountains" that is one of my favorite songs by them ever. I was expecting "Hook" or "Runaround" or one of the more popular ones; just as good but I love that one, and also "Just Wait" and "Look Around". Those two and "Mountains Win Again" are my favorite three Traveler songs they are all on the same CD. Glad you made the discovery. Here is look around, it is very stop and start-ish on here unfortunately but it is the most emotional singing by Popper I've ever heard, it is the story of my life (probably of all of humanity and just rips my heart out when I hear it, definitely worth a download.

okay, after about the first 30 seconds it starts playing right. :)

I am currently discovering all kind of folk on myspace that I want to hear more of. I go more by whether I like the quality of their voice at first, here are a couple I really like:

Crystal Shawanda (she is a full-blood Ojibway Indian with an incredible voice)

Auresia (reggae, the singer has an incredibly smooth voice)

7. I actually taught John Popper when he was in high school.
Social Studies. He was a nice kid. A little too fascinated with guns, though.
