School bus video released of St. Petersburg mother and daughter slapping boy
Last Update: 2:23 pm

ST. PETERSBURG -- St. Petersburg Police released video from on board a school bus Tuesday of a mother and her daughter slapping and poking a boy on the bus.

Police say on September 21st Karen Barber followed the bus honking her horn until the driver pulled over at 6th St. and 16th Ave. S. in St. Petersburg.

In the video, Barber is seen getting on the bus and approaching a boy. She can be heard yelling at the boy, then she pokes him and slaps him one time.

Barber's daughter also got on the bus, and after her mother slapped the boy, she slapped him twice.

Police charged both of them with misdemeanor battery.

Karen Barber says the boy had been bullying her son, and she was defending him.

12. Sheesh. A parent shouldn't be interfering unless their kid's in the last 2 years of high school.
For everything before that, teach your kid how to fight back against bullies, but not to bully other people.

If your kid's still getting bullied by his so-called "peers" in the last two years of high school, then it's okay to step in.
