Anyone here suffer from Multiple Myeloma?

Someone in my family was just diagnosed. It would be comforting to communicate with someone with this condition, to get advice, etc... I understand this is a heavy topic for the lounge, but I saw others posting about very serious health issues. Any help or contact would be appreciated. I tried to contact some support organizations, but they have pretty much ignored me.

Her illness was complicated by the fact that she waited so long to actually get some treatment. I think if your family member gets treatment early, it has a better prognosis. I also had a good friend whose brother had it.


I also know that Geraldine Ferraro has had it for quite a long time and that seems encouraging. i was told that sometimes people can have it for a long time and not know that they have it. It also seems that there are a lot of cancer researchers and others working very hard to treat it and find some ways to work better with it.
