I just recieved this first of six boxes.
Edited on Mon Sep-24-07 07:45 PM by Ptah
My sister scanned our father's slides onto CDs.
Each box has fifty CDs with ten photos on each CD.

Here is the first one I have resized, with me in my
maternal Grandma's lap. Behind her is my Mother.
Seated on your left is my great Grandmother.

Sister scanned them in at very high resolution.(5905 x 4032);they average 69,959 KB.
yikes!

Edit for spelling.

3. My dear Ptah!
What a wonderful picture!

I can see the adult you in your baby face, sweetie...

I think we're going to see a few pictures.......and I cannot wait!

I've asked my husband for a printer/scanner for my birthday...

Then you can see my old stuff too...

Keep 'em coming!

6. I don't know why she scanned them at 4000 dpi.
I have been steadily feeding them to my computer for three hours.

I just know started the twenty-first disc.

Since I started, the hyphen has been dissalowed, so
it is the twenty first disc.

22. 24 megapixels - though subtract one or two once you nix the black border...
Must be a dedicated film scanner and not a cheap flatbed.

Cool slides; nice slice of history.

Thanks for sharing!

23. Yes, it was a dedicated scanner, part of
the photo lab she used for her degree program at the University.

After I save them to a drive, I'm going to convert them to jpg.

I'll bore many of you when I have them ready to post.
