Air purifier question...
I've no idea if this is the correct forum...:7 ...but I sure as shit don't want to post this kind of question at GD.

Any feedback regarding air purifiers, the whole Ionic Breeze (wipe off) versus something with a HEPA filter that needs replacing? Anyone have those Ionic Breeze machines that only require wiping it off; does it work?

Thanks! :toast:

1. My sister has Ionic Breeze, I have HEPA type. We both live in dusty places
and both have pets in the house. Both types of filters seem to work. LOTS less particles visible in the air when they have been running. Lots less dust on surfaces and lots less allergy problems for both my sister's household and mine.

My HEPA has an ionizer option. I do feel better when it is on, as I am a negative ion junkie. The 90 Pound Hound likes the negative ions too and will lay on floor close to the thing, but ONLY when the ion option is running. Thinkin he is probably not dealing with a placebo affect like I may be subject to.

Mine has a double filter and the first one on the air intake side gets vacuumed off. It is noisier than the Ionic Breeze my sister uses.

3. Ionic purifiers produce harmful levels of ozone

Study up on ionic versus HEPA.
We have HEPA air purifiers and the amount of dust those things pick up is amazing.

On Edit: Those companies that have ionic capabilites have said they have fixed the problem, but I don't feel comfortable with that.
