Help! My feet have been cold (no, freezing) for 6 weeks now.
I cannot get them warm. I've tried all sorts of socks and every different shoe I have and nothing works. Any ideas (short of matchsticks under my toenails)?

1. Warm soaks then socks
and get your blood sugar checked...cold extremities can be a sign of poor circulation and/or diabetes

4. I agree with NSMA
Sounds like a circulation issue that should be checked by a doctor. Hope you warm up soon.

5. Cayenne pepper....(It really works)
Give a few shakes of cayenne pepper into your socks, wear them, and you will be amazed. The peppers encourage capillary blood flow.

6. Could be a warning sign of circulatory problems...
See your doctor. Sometimes we ignore symptoms that don't seem to fit anywhere only to find in retrospect that we could have saved ourselves some serious cure for a little bit of prevention.

18. I would agree, see a doctor....
Everyone gets cold extremities from time to time, but something that persistent could be a problem....

12. Yes, they are UGG-LY but very very warm
I have a pair that I've had for 10 years-- only pull them out when the snow is really deep and temps very very low-- you can wear them barefooted, that's how warm they are.

10. My feet have been cold since birth.
Seriously. The only time my feet aren't cold is for about a week in August when it's 110 degrees outside.

I gotta agree with everyone else. See a doctor and find out if it's a circulation problem. (That's what's wrong with me - I inherited my dad's poor circulation and low heart rate and low blood pressure without inheriting being 6'6".)

14. Exercise is the key.
These are circulatory and aerobic exercise will almost certainly do the trick. I'm almost never cold any more.

19. Have you heard of Smartwool socks?
I got a pair for Christmas and I've since bought 4 or 5 pair. They're merino wool and not itchy and I love 'em.

But I understand the cold. It's a toss up - my feet or my nose. Something's always cold.

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
