One of my Dad's best friends, Gene Hallbrook, was a great admirer of Ralph Steadman. You could see the influence in his paintings, which to me were magnificent. I've gotten plenty hooked on Mr. Steadman's work myself. I remember how I BUSTED out laughing the first time I saw one of his wine labels at HT!

I have his book "Untrodden Grapes" which I think is a treasure. He writes as beautifully as he paints; you can feel energy coming out of his words, lines, colors, textures. Looking at his paintings in that book is like having a really good dream. The man is just as good at nightmares.

but I DO recognize his artwork. Those characatures are GREAT! I really liked the one of the guy shackled to the prison bench, staring balefully at the Suggestion Box. Thanks for that!!
