My grandfather died at 94. My grammy recalled he had a bowl of ice cream right before bed, which was rare at best, according to her.

He died in his sleep.

I heard this story and decided there was no way in hell I was going to wait for my deathbed just to have an off-the-cuff bowl of ice cream. Lovely, enjoyed for itself. Just because it's nice.

Sort of like I don't want to die with unburned candles, or with gas in the motorcycle tank.

Blue Bunny vanilla, if you're curious. :)

3. I do that often.
It's one reason I'm a little soft in the middle. But hey, as you say, life is short.

4. Better soft in the middle than soft in the head
Yes, life is much too short.

6. I'm so sorry for your loss, Robb.

But we'll hold a good thought that at least in your heart, your grandfather and you will share an off-the-cuff treat or two now and again for many years to come.

7. 'Twas years ago, but thank you.
While we're remembering, his catch-phase was, "Robb, you're a good boy. But you know there's no demand for 'em." :)
