Poll question: Favorite 10,000 MANIACS number
Ooh, a two-fer! Anyone not voting for 'Eden' will have to provide a well-argued essay as to why not.

3. Scorpio Rising
From the Wishing Chair album. First song I ever heard from them on a college station way back in the 80's. Fell in love with Natalie's voice right then.

Side note her mom used to live in my town in the early 90's. Not sure how long she was here but it was right when the Maniacs were first really getting popular beyond the college rock crowd.

Their best song by far.

9. I like the feel of some of their earlier stuff like "Pit Viper"- I'm
disappointed at Natalie Merchant's solo career up to this point as she has IT. She's quite a writer IMO and can really take over a stage but she hasn't done all that well when compared to Gwen Stefani say.

Are they still together? I know they were still active after Natalie Merchant left, but are they still around?

12. Everything off of "Our Time In Eden".
Edited on Thu Jan-29-04 10:58 AM by mac56
One of my desert island discs.

"In My Tribe" is a close runner-up.

Add on edit: Natalie's voice reminds me of every girl I ever had a crush on in high school.
