1. It's embarrassing.
Last time the guy in the other stall said "How's it going" I replied I had eaten at Olive garden the previous evening and was having some intestinal difficulty. THEN I figured out he was talking to someone on the phone! Geez, I felt kind of foolish & embarrassed!

7. I think it is rude to the person you are talking to talk while using the facilities
but otherwise, I don't think so. I don't think that talking on a cell phone in public is any ruder than talking to a friend in person in public.

If I hear you flushing whilst talking to me on the phone, I get a little weirded out. If the guy in the next stall in talking on his phone, I'll think he's weird, but that's about it.

13. I agree with you my friend
People using cell phones in public have absolutely no manners whatsoever. Its as if the phone sucks their brain through the ear hole. I saw an idiot this morning in front of me yakking on a phone, a truck in front of her slowed down and turned on his left turn signal (I have badeyes and was two vehicles behind, but I saw it clearly.) Lil Miss important and her cell phone sped up, passed the truck on the left right before he turned left still yakking on the phone. No doubt it was a real fucking important call.

25. No flame here
I'm getting bloody tired of overhearing the details of other people's sex lives. Sir or Ma'am? If I wanted to know all about your orgasms, I'd be dialing a 1-900 number, not standing in line behind you at Starbucks.

I actually heard some woman discussing the details of her intestinal complaints while I was trying to pick out a package of pasta. Doctors get paid for that. It's one of the few times I think they're under-compensated.

It's not as though a public bathroom is a place I expect perfect silence and privacy (although my gym does ban cellphones in locker rooms for cameraphone issues)

But someone chatting in the stall next to me isn't really bothering me.

15. I hate it, and I don't let people get away with it either.
:P  I was in the ladies' room at Chick-Fil-A one afternoon, and the woman in the next stall was having a cell phone conversation. She was attending to ALL her business at the same time---I surmised it was her boss on the other end, and she was not even attempting to be quiet while heeding nature's call. I had to flush, and when I did, it was loud as hell. I heard her say, "Yes, I'm in the bathroom." I guess I got some perverse pleasure knowing that the person on the other end knew what she was up to. :P

I'm so mean....but cell phone rudeness and inconsideration is rampant, and I can't stand it. :grr: McDonald's now has to have signs in the drive-thru lane telling people NOT to talk on their cell phones while they are in the drive-thru.

20. My significant other is a florist....
He constantly has people walk in to the shop with a phone to their ear yakking away. On principle, he ignores them until they get off of the phone. More often than not, they ask the person they're on the phone with to hold on and say something to the effect of, "Well, isn't ANYONE going to help me???"

Just amazing....

18. No, I think it's funny.
If the person they're talking to doesn't care... I sure as hell don't. And I don't bother worrying about flushing either. That's what happens in restrooms.

Seems like lots of people have really really big hangups about what other people do on cell phones. It's kinda sad, really.

29. I don't like being trapped next to half of a conversation
whether it be in a restroom or on mass transit or any other place where I may not have the choice to walk away immediately from the buffoon. Although many are simple chatting calls I've heard far more than I want to know about business transactions, medical problems, and personal relationships and I find it sad that there is so little recognition of how inconsiderate the behavior is.

Then there's the whole other tier of usage when multi-tasking isn't a good idea --driving, crossing the street, waiting on customers or ignoring cashiers.

32. It's very different.
Two things that I've noticed. First, when I'm near two people having a conversation there is generally more self control on volume and content (with the exception of some teens and inebriated folks.) Second, it's easier to tune out a conversation than it is to tune out questions or comments made to thin air. The latter requires more attention to determine whether the speaker is addressing you. I suppose if I were in the habit of ignoring everyone around me I wouldn't be bothered by that, but it's not in my nature.

I mean, they're doing their financial transactions or whatever on the phone, obviously they couldn't care less where they chat, so why not flush, fart, or do what Larry Craig would do?

26. I LOVE IT!
If someone is in the bathroom talking on the phone, I make sure that I flush my toilet at least twice, whistle off-key or hum loudly, blow my nose as loudly as I can, let out a nice loud fart if I have it in me, and make the process of washing my hands and drying them as loud and obnoxious as possible.

My goal is always to hear those magic words: "Err, yes, I am in a bathroom."

28. I honestly don't care.
I suppose I'm weird, but as long as I'm not being subjected to "cell yell" I don't find it much different from two women talking to each other over the stall doors. I don't care about people talking on cell phones most places as long as they aren't screaming their business all over the place. About the only thing that annoys me about cell phones is people who don't have their hands on the steering wheel, have the nerve to chat in a movie/play or other "shut up and let over people enjoy it" venues and people shouting their innermost secrets for the world to hear. Conversations in a normal tone of voice don't phase me. Heck, I've picked up some really funny stuff. :)
