Poll question: How do you generally handle e-mails and PMs?
Just curious as to what the average person's response pattern is.

1. Robb is a dingbat
Usually answer as I get them. Save some if they require more time or extra thinkin.

2. Depends on who they are from

Some I forward to the FBI.

Most I respond to but just because I have an inbox doesn't mean I promise to respond to every single note a person sends me.

13. LOL...I only had to do that once.
Someone sent me a questionable e-mail once. It sounded like a threat, so I called a cyber crime investigator friend of mine, and forwarded it to him. It turned out to be nothing threatening; just poor word choice due to anger.

:-)

11. Me three
Of course, I just happen to be responding to posts by two people guaranteed to get a response from me. :-)

3. I don't get a lot
From a handful of people (maybe just one really or others if I'm not busy), I will answer almost right away, but generally, I'll leave it until I have more time or I'm less busy.

4. I tend to answer quickly...
if they come in while I'm awake. (Got someone who tends to email me at 1:30 in the morning.) :)

I look at PMs like they're a conversation. I leave the email notification thingy on so I know every time I get a message and I read and respond right then. I just love to talk. :) (This is NOT a surprise to the people who know me.)

8. I'm like you
I love it when I have several conversations going on at once. The trick is making sure you're saying the right thing to the right person. Could have disastrous repercussions if you're not careful. ;-)

5. I either ignore 'em or delete 'em
People know that if they want my attention you can only get it from IMing me. I refuse to pick up the phone.

9. It depends. I get a LOT of mail.
On DU too, but mostly, I just get a lot of mail.

If it's from friends or people I really look forward to hearing from, then I open it and respond, even if only briefly.

If it's work related, I open it, scan for emergencies and then file it to be dealt with later.

If it's from the Oracle, chances are about 90% I'm going to delete it immediately and not think about it again.

If it's unsolicited mail from some butthead who saw my picture and thinks I'm hot, I forward the mail, complete with headers and address to www.heartless-bitches.com for mockery.

12. How many do you send?
Perhaps if you sent more, you would receive more.

17. i read e-mails/PMs right away
answer some when they are received and save some for a later time.

i have three e-mail accounts for different purposes.
the political/activism e-mails require more of my attention before responding so those usually 'wait' the longest.
